The Rituals by Nil Yalter / Nicole Croiset . 1980

Video Performance : The space is divided into two equal zones, each containing a video monitor and a camera. The set-up is based on the interlinking of the two spaces, with each camera connected to the monitor in the opposite space.

Yalter and Croiset operated within their own spaces, but were confronted with the images filmed in the other space or prerecorded for the other monitor. This resulted in a constant exchange of two types of ritual : masculine and feminine, warrior-like or relating to motherhood.
